❝ Chahinaz Ziani is a water resources specialist and researcher with a strong academic and practical background in Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM). She supports Water Consults as a subject matter expert, providing technical input across projects related to hydrological modeling, climate risk assessment, and sustainable water governance.
Chahinaz holds an M.Sc. in IWRM from TH Köln – University of Applied Sciences in Germany, where she also lectures and contributes to applied research in climate-related hydrology and watershed management. Her work focuses on spatial and statistical analysis of droughts, floods, and catchment behavior, and she has contributed to both regional development studies and academic publications.
With experience in Morocco, Germany, and Southeast Asia, Chahinaz brings a multidimensional perspective to water challenges. Her skills include GIS and remote sensing (ArcGIS, QGIS), hydrological modeling (HEC-HMS, GR2M), and advanced data analysis using R and Python. She is fluent in Arabic, French, and English, and proficient in German.

Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning (MEAL) Expert – WASH & Agriculture
❝ Ibrahim Alissa is an Agricultural Engineer and seasoned MEAL expert supporting Water Consults’ programs in Jordan and Syria. With over 10 years of field experience, Ibrahim brings deep expertise in sustainable agriculture, environmental monitoring, and evaluation of development and humanitarian projects, particularly in the WASH and agricultural sectors.
A graduate of Al Furat University in Syria, Ibrahim has led and contributed to numerous impactful projects across northeastern Syria, including modern irrigation systems (such as drip and sprinkler irrigation), soil health assessments, and sustainable crop production initiatives. His work has supported major organizations including Pêl Organization and Doz International, and he has played a key role in bridging research, field implementation, and community engagement.
At Water Consults, Ibrahim contributes to field assessments, the design of monitoring frameworks, training of enumerators, and coordination with local authorities and beneficiary groups. He is known for his strong analytical skills, technical reporting abilities, and dedication to data-driven solutions that enhance resilience and resource efficiency in vulnerable rural communities.

GIS Expert
Spatial Analysis, Data Management
❝ Ahmad Hamdan is an accomplished GIS expert with a specialized focus on Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) & water management. With an academic degree in Civil - Surveying Engineering, he brings wealth of experience spanning over several years across various roles & organizations.
In his capacity, Ahmad played a pivotal role in rehabilitating water supply units, sanitation systems, and shelters in crisis areas of several interventions. His responsibilities included technical needs assessment, project development, construction supervision, procurement, finance management, and data management and reporting.
Additionally, Ahmad's tenure involves designing and implementing water reuse systems, stormwater response, and infrastructure optimization projects in refugee camps. He also led initiatives in drainage system design and construction, leveraging GIS applications such as ArcMap, ArcGISD and AutoCAD for mapping and visualization.
As Water Consults' expert in GIS, Ahmad brings a comprehensive understanding of spatial analysis and mapping techniques to enhance Water and Environmental Management strategies and WASH interventions.❞

❝ Saja Al Addasi is a skilled IWRM and WASH professional with a solid academic and field-based foundation in sustainable water management. She holds a Master’s degree in Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) from TH Köln – University of Applied Sciences in Germany, complemented by a B.Sc. in Water and Environmental Engineering from the German Jordanian University.
As a Subject Matter Expert with Water Consults, Saja supports multidisciplinary projects that span water governance, climate resilience, environmental assessment, and WASH service delivery. Her experience includes significant roles with IUCN, Action Against Hunger (ACF), BORDA, GIZ, and Blumont, where she contributed to initiatives on water reuse, greywater treatment in schools, WASH in refugee settings, stakeholder engagement, and climate vulnerability assessments.
She has delivered consultancy services on project monitoring, baseline assessments, donor reporting, and environmental and social impact studies. Fluent in Arabic, English, and proficient in German, Saja brings cross-cultural and cross-sectoral understanding to regional water challenges. Her expertise bridges technical design with practical implementation, particularly in community-based and climate-sensitive contexts.
At Water Consults, Saja plays a key role in linking integrated water management with sustainable WASH programming across Jordan and the MENA region. ❞

Subject Matter Expert – Sanitation Engineering & Nature-Based Solutions
❝ Anas Abu-Khalaf is a results-driven Sanitation Engineer and Consultant with over seven years of hands-on experience in decentralized wastewater treatment systems (DWWTPs) and nature-based sanitation solutions. As part of the Water Consults expert network, Anas supports innovation and implementation of environmentally sound sanitation technologies that prioritize wastewater reuse and long-term sustainability.
Since 2017, Anas has worked with both NGOs and private sector partners, leading the design, implementation, and supervision of decentralized treatment systems, including constructed wetlands in underserved and rural communities. His work encompasses technical assessments, infrastructure planning, development of training materials, and delivery of capacity-building workshops tailored to local needs.
Anas brings practical expertise in operation and maintenance (O&M) of treatment facilities, system optimization, and effluent monitoring. He has authored bilingual (Arabic-English) construction and O&M manuals that support the sustainability and scalability of wastewater interventions.
Through his contributions to the Wastewater Technology and Innovation section at Water Consults, Anas champions low-energy, community-based sanitation solutions that align with global efforts to enhance water reuse, environmental health, and climate resilience. ❞

Sanitation Engineer & Consultant
Decentralized Wastewater Treatment & Nature-Based Solutions
❝ Ple Hello, I am Tharwh Qutaish; a senior Chemical Engineer from Jordan. I have over 24 years of experience in water and environment issues with a focus on water and wastewater projects that includes; water quality models, pollution indices, risk mapping, risk assessment, writing national environmental state and environmental indicators reports. In addition to preparing wastewater treatment plants quality testing for various purposes, and online water quality monitoring system, preparing water quality surveillance programs.
My work expertise includes of choices and elements to measure, the location of sampling sites, the periodicity of sampling, the collection of field samples and data, processing of the samples in the laboratory and the compilation and management of the data, and designing water quality policies and standards. As a recognition of my achievements and experience, the Jordanian Professional Engineers Association has given me one of the highest titles amongst Jordanian engineers i.e., Certified Water Quality Expert. ❞
